Most of these unusual .38 S&W C.F. caliber revolvers were shipped to Mexico or exported elsewhere and rarely turn up today. Easily identified by the non-integral spur trigger with the frame and the flat-sided hammer. This 4" barrel example still retains fine blue on the frame and barrel with gray mixing. The cylinder has very thin blue mixing heavily gray/brown. Brighter blue on the butt and back strap lead me to think this once had oversize target grips. Fine case colors on the hammer sides and top. Excellent markings with the last patent date on the barrel 1880 along with the correct "Model of '91" stamping. Matching numbers on frame, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch. Grips fit perfectly with the right panel not numbered to this revolver. Excellent tight mechanics and bore. Rarely encountered.
