SOLD
$2,900...New York engraved Smith & Wesson "First Model American", serial # 4973 is of the 1870 period... A Single Action top break revolver... .44 S&W., the barrel was shortened to 4 1/2” during it's period of use... uncleaned patina nickle finish, and Snake & Eagle grips.
The revolver is in untouched natural condition showing the 149 years of age, in color and appearance. Mechanically this S&W American has an excellent working action.
This Old Hogleg saw heavy use for a exceptionally long time, and in the roughest areas of then the American Southwest Frontier. A beautiful piece of American Frontier History.
