Description: General Specs: Smith & Wesson, Year 1877, .38S&W, 17oz., 3 1/4" Barrel Serial Number: 22933 After developing their series of large-frame .44 caliber revolvers, Smith & Wesson introduced the “Baby Russian” in 1876 as their first .38 caliber revolver. This five shot break action example has matching serial numbers- 22933 and was manufactured in 1877. Chambered for .38 S&W. this gun retains 97% factory original nickel plating on its 3 ¼” barrel and 90% over the other surfaces. The hard rubber grips are in great condition and fit the frame perfectly. The bore is in very good shape as are the screws, the fit of the access panels is superb. Mechanically the gun is in excellent condition with the extractor star snapping sharply to release its cartridges. This is a single action only revolver with its iconic spur trigger breaking crisply and is sold with a vintage soft leather holster. Smith & Wesson continued the production of the Baby Russian with the 2nd, and 3rd Models with production ending in 1911. This is an antique firearm and can be delivered to your home address.
