Smith & Wesson 2nd Model Schofield
Description:
Sold
Smith & Wesson 2nd Model Schofield serial number 3017 all matching, .45 S&W, 7 inch barrel with a very nice bore. This is a very handsome revolver that retains 70-75% of it's nickel finish, with the majority of the loss occurring along the sides of the barrel and around the front of the cylinder. Some small spots of freckling are mingling with the pewter gray / brown patina, and the hammer and trigger guard have retained a good majority of the original color case-hardening. The original walnut grips are long gone but a nice set of Pearl are present. The US stamp / serial number on the butt is crisp and clear. The lock-up is rock-solid, and the action functions flawlessly. There is still evidence of fire blued screws and external parts. This is a very good example of a truly desirable S&W that was upgraded after the war by either Bannermans or Hartley and Graham. Antique and can ship directly to your doorsteps. Please feel free to ask questions.
