Description:
A photo shows that this S & W .44 Russian double action was shipped to W.C. Scotts & Sons on Oct.11,1897 in Birmingham,England. Everthing checks with factory letter, except instead of hard rubber grips,,it now has factory S & W wood checkered grips ,and they fit nicely. Which were more popular in England. And it of course has Birmingham black powder proofs. The mechanica, bore, original bluing, and top-strap lockup are fine. This is not a 95% antique gun,but its been there, used, and still nice original condition to enjoy;and possibly use.I sell antique guns for display and collecting,if deciding to use,one must have a gunsmith to check out for use and proper load.
