Barrel length: 6 inches (
Bore: Dark but nicely rifled
Grips: Mother-of-pearl (custom or deluxe factory option)
Sights: Fixed blade front, notch rear
MFG Date: Production ran 1881–1913, but all frames were made prior to 1899 qualifying all as an Antique Firearm (per "Standard Catalog of SMITH & WESSON" 4th Edition (2016) by Supica/Nahas,)
Features:
- Top-break frame with automatic ejector
- Six-shot fluted cylinder
- Solid rib barrel
- Elegant mother-of-pearl grips
- Classic Old West and frontier design
- Later model with 1-9/16" long cylinder
Extras: None
Condition: No cracks found on Pearl grips, they have some staining, particularly on the back side. Surface issues exist on metal (see pics), timing and lock up appear to be proper, trigger and hammer work in both SA/DA, auto ejector works as it should. Patent marking and matching serial numbers (butt, cylinder, under ejector and top break latch) still very legible, S&W logo under some surface conditions but legible. Firing pin appears to have been ground down (shortened) it does not protrude into the cylinder but seems to be repairable.. (see last two pics).
