Smith & Wesson M&P .38 S&W caliber. Top strap marked “United states Property". According to their very fine book “Standard catalog of Smith & Wesson 4th edition" Supica and Nahas the .38/200 British Service Revolver (Model K 200) Square butt is a K frame with 5screws., Identical to the .38 Hand Ejector 1905, 4th model. This revolver has a 6 inch Barrel. ‘‘United States property’’ and is military inspected “WB" on the bottom of the butt. They go on to say that early Lend Lease guns were marked as mentioned with the United States Property on the top strap. This revolver is not marked with a V or SV and is not a Victory model! This revolver has no British Proof marks. The butt also has an ordnance bomb next to the WB inspectors markings. The grips are not correct and should be S&W medallion and checkered. We do not have the correct grips but they should be easy to find!. Neat revolver that is correct and an early Lend-lease variant . Bore is perfect and action indexes and locks up perfectly. The hammer has very good case colors. Barrel address and caliber markings are sharp and clear. The revolver has approximately 80% blue with the rest being some patina from fading.
