Early S&W .38 Military & Police 1st Model Revolver Pearl Grips
Description:
Serial #17253, .38 Special, 4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, and extractor (the yoke has no visible number). The metal retains 60-70% of the original blue finish with the balance having worn to a mottled plum-brown and gray patina, especially along the barrel, with some further areas of pinprick pitting, most noticeably at the rear of the frame on the left side. The trigger and hammer have retained about 80-85% of the original color case-hardening, with faded gray along the edges. The revolver has period, genuine mother-of-pearl grips that are in fine shape, with a few stable stress cracks around the screw bolsters. The lock-up is firm, and the action is fully functional. This is a very nice example of the very first version of the legendary S&W M&P, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
