S&W .38 Special British
Revolver Conversion by Cogswell & Harrison
Description:
Serial #V263496, .38 Special, 5" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, extractor, yoke, and barrel with the metal retaining 75-80% of a reapplied, commercial blue finish that has faded and silvered along the high edges and projections, and mottled freckling at the rear of the frame on both sides, but heaviest on the left where “CONVERTED BY / COGSWELL & HARRISON LTD. / LONDON" is engraved below the cylinder latch.
London proofs are present on the right side, the marks at the breech-end of the barrel have an area of gray fading around them, and the word “SPECIAL" has been engraved behind the “+ .38 S&W CTG. +" rollmark on the right side.
The “GHD" US inspector marking is still visible at the toe of the butt.
The smooth walnut grips are numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in very good shape with light handling marks and small blemishes under the added, slightly glossy varnish.
The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly.
This is an interesting K-200 S&W, in very good-near fine condition which, after conversion, could be described as a “Cogswell & Harrison M&P" revolver.
