Description:
The Smith & Wesson Model 10-8 is a heavy-barrel variant of the iconic Military & Police revolver, produced starting in 1977. It is a six-shot, double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special, built on the medium-sized K-frame. Unlike the "pencil" or tapered barrels found on older models, the 10-8 features a straight, non-tapered bull barrel. This added weight helps reduce muzzle flip and improves pointability. The 10-8 change specifically moved the gas ring from the yoke to the cylinder to improve performance during extended firing sessions. This model was a standard-issue sidearm for numerous law enforcement agencies for decades due to its extreme reliability and smooth trigger action. .38 Special
