Smith and Wesson Model 14 (no dash), .38 special, 6 in. NEVER Fired
Description: For sale is a "never fired" Smith and Wesson model 14 (no dash) .38 cal.special with 6 in barrel. This was purchased at an estate sale from the son of the deceased owner that said his father never fired it and kept as his safe queen. It is in unbelievable condition and looks as new as the day it was purchased. I am not sure what the exact manufacturing date was but this Model 14 was produced in 1960 according to WikepediA. The Model 14 uses S&W’s K-frame design and it is, essentially, a Model 10 with a six-inch barrel and adjustable sights—a target gun at heart. The revolver is a double-action. The trigger feels good and runs smooth, wide and comfortable. Inside the trigger guard there is plenty room. S&W thought ahead and bead blasted the top of the classic K-frame in order to reduce possible sun glare. Any of you who have shot a nickel-plated revolver at three in the afternoon know how that goes. S&W ribbed the top strap of the barrel for the same reason. The serrated hammer was effective and nice to look at. The rear sights are fully adjustable but also removable. The gun weighs in at 35 ounces, so it’s neither extremely light nor overly heavy. S&W recommended the Model 14 for most everything, including competitive shooting, and it made for a fine competition gun, The grips are S&W’s own Magna wooden units that featured effective checkering and a square butt. Nothing fancy, but they look really handsome and are comfortable in the hand. Can’t really ask for much more out of grips. If you are looking for a piece of Smith and Wesson history, here it is in imppecable condition. This revolver gives new meaning to the word "pristine".
