1971 Smith & Wesson Model 15-3 .38 Special Revolver
Description:
This Smith & Wesson Model 15-3 was manufactured in 1971. It has a 4" inch barrel with factory adjustable target-style sights and is chambered in .38 Special. It is all-original except for the grips, which are factory replacements. This Smith has an excellent bore and clean cylinder bores. The rifling still looks new with sharp lands and grooves, and there is no visible pitting, erosion, or imperfections of any kind. The action is smooth and perfectly "in time", locking up perfectly. The trigger is good whether it is worked single or double-action. These early 1970's vintage guns were very well made and hand-fit by excellent gunsmiths that S&W employed at the time. The new-production guns just dont have the same feel despite all the modern equipment and super-tight tolerances in machining. If you have been looking for a good .38 Special target or plinking revolver this S&W Model 15-3 would be an excellent choice.
