Smith & Wesson Model 19-2 .357MAG – NAVY RUNOFF, ROUND BUTT, BOX, LETTER, vintage firearms

Description:
General Specs: Smith & Wesson, 1965, .357 Magnum, 33oz. 4"
Serial Number:  K622796

The Smith & Wesson .357 Combat Magnum is a no-nonsense, well-balanced revolver typically built on the square-butt K frame. This example, serial number K622796, was manufactured in 1965 by Smith & Wesson and is a U.S. Navy contract overrun Model 19-2. Four-inch Model 19 revolvers were typically built on square-butt K frames, making round-butt examples especially scarce. In June 1965, the U.S. Navy placed an order for 1,000 round-butt Model 19 revolvers with 4” pinned barrels. Smith & Wesson ultimately produced more than was required for the contract and released them to the public. According to the accompanying factory letter, this revolver was shipped on October 16, 1967, to Olympic Wholesale Co. of Los Angeles, California. It features a 4” pinned barrel and a shrouded ejector rod. The gun retains 99%+ of its original factory finish on all parts, including case color on the hammer and trigger. It has a perfect 10/10 mirror bore, with no marks, dirt, or debris in the forcing cone, firing pin bushing or the counterbored chambers and appears unfired apart from maybe a factory test! This handsome revolver does show one noticeable admiration mark – a drag line on the cylinder from being admired and handled. The top strap and backstrap have ten grooves, along with a serrated ramp front sight and a micrometer-click adjustable combat rear sight. Chambered for the potent .357 Magnum and .38 Special rounds, it is eminently suitable for just about any task. Overall, this is an investment-quality firearm in 99%+ condition, complete with its serial numbered box and Official Smith & Wesson Letter. Chances are you’ll never see another Model 19-2 quite like this one again, so don’t hesitate, or it will be gone! Detailed specifications and pictures are below. Thanks for looking!
