Smith & Wesson Model 19-3 Double Action in .357 Magnum **Mfg 1975**
Description: **SOLD** For consideration is a Smith & Wesson Model 19-3 .357 Magnum made in 1975. The Smith & Wesson Model 19 is a revolver produced by Smith & Wesson that was introduced in 1957 on its K-frame. The Model 19 is chambered for .357 Magnum. The K-frame is somewhat smaller and lighter than the original N-frame .357, usually known as the Smith & Wesson Model 27. A stainless steel variant of the Model 19, the Smith & Wesson Model 66, was introduced in 1971. The .357 Smith & Wesson Magnum, .357 S&W Magnum, .357 Magnum, or 9×33mmR (as it is known in unofficial metric designation) is a smokeless powder cartridge with a 0.357 in (9.07 mm) bullet diameter. It was created by Elmer Keith, Phillip B. Sharpe, and Douglas B. Wesson of firearm manufacturers Smith & Wesson and Winchester. The .357 Magnum cartridge is notable for its highly effective terminal ballistics. This particular example is in very good overall condition exhibiting some high edge wear and bright spots at the muzzle from going in and out of a holster. This Model 19-3 is fitted with Hogue Monogrips which provide a solid non-slip hold on the gun. The 6" barrel has a good bore with strong rifling. Sights are a blade w/orange insert front and adjustable rear. The cylinder has light turn rings and the action locks up nicely in the "fired" condition. The hammer and trigger are of the wider target type and they still have good color. Though not perfect this fine Model 19-3 would be a great shooter.
