"Scarce Kittredge Marked Smith & Wesson No. 2 Army Revolver (AH4884)
"Scarce Kittredge Marked Smith & Wesson No. 2 Army Revolver. The metal has a dark gray patina. Action functions properly but does not lock up properly. Grips are good. Bore has some pitting, but is not too bad overall. Left hand side of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED FOR B. KITTREDGE & CO. CINCINNATI. OHIO." This marking, along with the serial number, are consistent with revolvers possibly issued to the 1th Kentucky Cavalry after 1862. Rosewood grips are good. This gun has seen a moderate amount of use, but has a really neat and historic association!
