Description:
Standard configuration S&W Model 27-2 .357 Magnum revolver manufactured between 1969-1972, SN: N12823, with 3½-inch barrel with fixed front sight and fully adjustable rear sight. The inner frame is marked "N12823" with "MOD 27-2", the crane marked "48363". Left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON" while the right side is marked "S.&W. 357 MAGNUM". Sideplate with the circular S&W trademark along with the 4-line address: "MADE IN U.S.A.", registration reference, "SMITH & WESSON", and "SPRINGFIELD, MASS." Fitted with checkered wooden grips with S&W medallions, the grip frame serialed "N12823". Trigger and hammer are color case hardened. Complete with original blue cardboard shipping box, matching end label, instruction leaflet/warranty card, and cleaning swab. The 3½-inch barrel length was extremely popular with FBI agents from the 1940s through the 1970s.
Condition:
Beautiful 99+ percent bright original salt blue, the cylinder ring barely breaking through the blue, no case head imprints on the recoil shield. Vivid case colors on small parts. Comparable condition grips with no discernible handling marks. Mirror bright bore. VG+ box with scuffs and shelf wear.
