A new S & W Model 28-2 caliber .357 magnum with a 6 inch barrel.
These were manufactured between 1954 and 1986. First called the Highway Patrolman and changing to the model 28 in 1957. Mechanically this model is the same as the ultra-popular Model 27. 1954 saw the development of this model at the request of law enforcement agencies looking for the performance features of the model 27 at a lower price. The model 28 does not feature the cosmetic features that are very labor entensive and expensive that the model 27 has. These include a matte finish, the rib is sandblasted instead of checkered or serrated and the grips are the standard checkered walnut.
With this gun you can enjoy all the performance of the top-of-the-line N-frame S&W Model 27 at a much lower price.
NOTE: Grips missing a piece. Please see pictures.
