The Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman was an 'N' frame revolver which began production in 1954 and is a matte-finished bead blasted version of the Model 27. The Model was later renamed the Model 28 in 1957. This one appears to be an early model with an 'S' prefix serial number, and is a non-dash model 28. .357 Mag/.38spl
