Smith & Wesson Model 29 5 Screw in Walnut Case complete with Papers and Cleaning tools
Description: Fantastic Pre 29 Hand Ejector, 5 Screw, Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum in Walnut Case with Cleaning Tools and Papers (See Photos). 1957 Production (2nd Year, Serial #S 167xxx). Speaking with the Original Owner, he fired one cylinder full which created a hairline crack on the left grip and put the gun away. S&W would not provide another set of Diamond Grips saying that they were going to put a heavier set of target grips on the guns further into production. I do know that other real early pre 29's also developed the same problem and S&W did come out with a heavier Target Grip on the 29-1 & 2's. This gun is 99+% with no apparent blue wear, a very faint spin mark and some minor residue on the end of the cylinder from when he fired it. This gun has been under wraps since shortly after1957 and looks it!!!. " A True Pre Dirty Harry 6 & 1/2 " Cannon in the finest condition I have ever ensountered. Not for the faint of heart. All the Blue, Case Colors on Trigger and Hammer with the full target configuration. What a Collector. FFL or C&R Required. 3 Day Inspection. Thanks for Looking. ADDFENDUM: I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY A EXPERIENCED COLLECTOR OF THESE THAT THE WALNUT BOX, PAPERS AND TOOLS ARE OF A LATER VINTAGE THAN WHAT THESE GUNS CAME IN. I APOLOGIZE FOR MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ON THE FINER POINTS OF THE PACKAGE. EVEN THOUGH, YOU ARE NOT PURCHASING A LEATHERETTE BLUE BOX NOR A BLUE HANDLED SCREW DRIVER. JUST A FANTASTIC SPECIMAN OF A REALLY RARE GUN IN GREAT CONDITION WITH A WALNUT BOX, TOOLS AND PAPERS THROWN IN. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
