A beautiful and uncommon Pre - 29, 5 Screw was shipped from the Factory on May 24, 1957 with Serial number S173763 as is shown in the Historical Letter on the bottom of Page 2. Shown on the Front Page of the Letter is the following: " In mid summer 1957, the number of screws retaining the side plate was changed from 4 to 3. This change took place at approximately serial number S170000."
it is known that some 5 Screw guns were produced in the range of S170000 - S176000, but they are uncommon and their exact number is unknown.
Included In this sale are the gun with it's Original Presentation case including tools and the Historical Letter.
The overall condition is shown in the accompanying pictures and additional pictures are available on request. Detractions to this Pre-Model 29 are a turn line on the cylinder, some very slight handling marks and some haziness in the blue finish on the side plate and on either side of the cylinder release button. I have attempted to show this condition in the last two pictures.
This remains an outstanding example of a Pre - 29, 5 Screw variant.
