S&W pre 34 .22/32 kit gun Modified I frame 2" RARE
Description:
S&W kit gun .22 lr. revolver. This is a pre-34 model and was built, not on the “J” frame, but on the improved “I” frame. This seems to be the last year of the “I” frame and the first year of the 2” barrel which puts this particular revolver into something of a transition mode! Also it has the 2nd style flat latch which is also indicative of the improved “I” frame along with the somewhat shorter 1.30” cylinder length. So this is a very desirable and collectable Kit Gun. Also, like the earler models it has factory diamond grips on the round butt frame. Condition is 97% overall. Made in 1958 this revolver is truly a “transition” gun..according to Roy Jinks’ book the .22/32 kit gun became the model 34 in 1958 yet this gun was shipped June 12,1958 to Olympic Wholesale in Los Angeles and it is not a numbered model and has most of the features of the older version except for the 2” barrel! Included factory letter confirms the information.
