S&W Chiefs Special *Nickel* (ca. 1971-1972)
Description:
This is a beautiful 2" Model 36 Chiefs Special in shiny Nickel.
It came from the collection of a fellow S&W collector who loves J-frames - especially Nickel ones. During his long career in law enforcement he must have ran across a whole lot of pimps because he accumulated and held on to a lot of great examples. If he sees this...Hi Mark.
This one's age is easy to determine because it has an unusual serial number (the J in the middle) that only occurred in 1971-1972.
Overall condition is about 95%. Nickel does not have any yellowing or flaking but there are some areas along the edges where it has dulled with time (like most of us do by our late 40s).
Grips are very good condition but just plain walnut - no diamonds. But no scratches or dings.
Gun shows signs of being fired but not very much.
NOTE: We are also listing a Nickel 37-1 (Airweight Chiefs Special) that is a different age but a virtual match for this firearm. That listing number here in Guns International is 101512367. (See final picture). If you are interested in purchasing both guns at the same time we will include the red-silk-lined box at no charge. More importantly, we will also ship both guns at no charge. This is the perfect His and Hers Anniversary Set for someone born in 1971 (or 1972) (like this Model 36j married to someone born in 1988 (like the Model 37-1).
**********Blue Star Hobbies is a group of friends in Central Illinois working together to ocassionally offer up items from our personal collections. From time to time we may list a rifle or shotgun but our focus is mostly S&W, Colt, & Ruger handguns built between 1946-1980. Our guns are better than our photography. We try to highlight flaws with red circles and everything else is usually glare or blanket fuzz. If you have a question about a photo please ask. We follow all Federal and State laws and GI policies. Please add $25 for standard shipping. Our FFL will ship to your FFL on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays to minimize in-transit risks. **********
