Description: Here we have a gorgeous Smith and Wesson Model 36. This is an early Smith with the flat latch cylinder release. Built sometime between 1950-1969. Exact manufacturing dates were not kept during these first generation Smith J-frames unfortunately. This J-frame has been hand engraved exquisitely by Cecil Mills. Cecil was a judge that got into engraving as a hobby and became an excellent engraver! He was taught by the likes of Angelo Bee and John Barraclough. His engraving style is very similar to Angelo's and the inlays on this gun could even be mistaken as Angelo's work. Has a beautiful set of real mother of pearl grips that are the icing on the cake. Chambered in .38 special with a 1.78" barrel. The action is great with a tight lockup/endshake. Nice chambers and bore. Overall this gun is a very nice pistol!
