Smith & Wesson Model 36, no dash, serial number 4258xx. This .38 Special revolver, also known as the .38 Chief's Special, has the somewhat rare 3 inch pinned barrel. The revolver was made in the mid 1960s. The Model 36 is a double action revolver, with blued finish. It has a five shot cylinder, ramp front sight and notch rear sight. Grips are diamond walnut with Smith & Wesson medallions, and the grips are numbered to the gun. This Model 36 is in excellent used condition. We estimate bluing at 99%. There is some very light pitting on the bottom of the frame by the serial number and on the backstrap. Otherwise the gun looks great, no scratches or dings. The gun shows little evidence of being shot, with just a minimal drag line. Bore and cylinders are perfect. Grips show no cracks or chips. The original factory box is included, with serial number marked on the side. Manual is also included.
