This is a S&W Model 53 .22 Jet, early 1st year production with 8 3/8" barrel and target stocks. It is NOS, Mint and Unfired since factory test fire! No marks or scratches or wear. The bore is perfect and the action is smooth and tight. The box is numbered to the gun and has the 6 stainless steel .22 LR chamber inserts that came with the gun. The box itself is very nice too. This a fabulous find! Model 53 Jet NIB and Mint!
It features the "4-screw" frame, semi-target hammer with the "switch" to select one of the dual firing pins for either center fire or Rimfire, serrated trigger, and recessed cylinder! Plus, this stunning Jet is held by the oversize Walnut Target grips with S&W medallions and diamond around the screw escutcheon.
This high speed .22 centerfire cartridge and revolver were developed after conversions of the Model 17 to the Wildcat .224 Harvey Kay Chuck had proven popular!
