Very nice classic .357 magnum (it will also chamber and fire .38 Special cartridges) double action revolver, 6 inch barrel, overall length of 11.25 inches, holds 6 rounds in cylinder.
Blued finish in beautiful condition, original wooden checkered grips with the S&W medallion.
With a target style adjustable rear sight. These handguns had a major effect on both law enforcement and sporting markets. The 586 was introduced in 1980, The Model 586 uses S&W's L (medium) revolver frame, with a K-frame-sized grip mated to a larger diameter cylinder.
All around this is just a beautiful classic magnum caliber revolver to own.
Cylinder locks up tight and swings out smoothly, just as you would expect from a quality S&W revolver.
This fine revolver would be great for target shooting or just to add to a fine or growing collection of classics.
