PRE-WAR K-22 OUTDOORSMAN TARGET REVOLVER
Description: PRE-WAR K-22 OUTDOORSMAN TARGET REVOLVER, ONLY 19,500 MADE DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION YEARS OF 1931-1940 BETWEEN SERIAL NUMBERS 632124-682419.THIS ONE IS A MID-PRODUCTION REVOLVER #665277. During this time of terrible economic conditions in the U.S. and with very limited sales of expensive revolvers, S&W could only keep in their employ their finest craftsmen and gunsmiths. The revolvers, especially the target sighted versions, turned out during this time were some of the finest ever made as extra time was available to hand fit and tune each revolver. The smoothness of the actions on these revolvers is truly remarkable. This is a lightly used example that has excellent sharp checkered diamond grips with S&W medallions that are matching numbered inside to the cylinder, frame and barrel. Most of the bright high polished blue remains with only some light spotting to the finish toward the muzzle on the left side of the barrel and on the frame below the cylinder on the right side. All markings are sharp and clear. There is fine case colors on the hammer and trigger. Target sights are correct. Bore is excellent and the front face of the cylinder shows good blue indicating that this revolver was not fired much. Screws appear unturned. Comes with an old Brauer Brothers, St. Louis flap holster with the underlined initials "R. A. P." on the flap.
