VERY HIGH CONDITION, RARE TARGET .44 HAND EJECTOR 2ND. MODEL, #34XXX, MADE 1930
Description: VERY HIGH CONDITION, RARE TARGET .44 HAND EJECTOR 2ND. MODEL, #34XXX, MADE THE FIRST YEAR AFTER THE STOCK MARKET CRASH OF 1929 AND THE BEGINNING OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION IN 1930. This is a near mint .44 Special example with all matching numbers including on the inside of the grips. There is just as touch of blue wear at the edges of the muzzle on each side and barely a cylinder line. Interestingly, there is a lanyard swivel factory filler in the butt that goes through the serial number, HOWEVER, the full serial number is stamped inside the frame under the grips. I have seen this before especially on "N" frame S&Ws that have a lanyard swivel or swivel blank/filler that goes into the serial number. No doubt, the frame had the serial number stamped when the revolver was made for a swivel and the full number was added to the inside. This was done before the revolver was finished as there is blue inside the number stamping. Adjustable rear sight with Patridge front sight with factory small square brass inlay, exc. case color on the trigger and patent marked hammer. Tight action and bright excellent bore. Grooved trigger and back strap as was standard on target models. Sharp markings including the S&W logo. Exc. screw heads. About as nice as one could hope to find. Even the ejector rod retains nearly all the blue. All of these pre-war target models are difficult to find. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Handgun Caliber: .44 Special Manufacturer: SMITH & WESSON Model: 44 H-E TARGET 2ND. MOD Serial Number: 34XXX Barrel Length: 6 1/2 Condition: EXCELLENT Bore Condition: EXCELLENT |
