INTERESTING RARE .32-20 TARGET 1905 4TH CHANGE, WITH KING MIRROR SIGHT, MADE 1940
Description: INTERESTING AND RARE .32-20 HAND EJECTOR TARGET 1905 4TH CHANGE, WITH KING MIRROR FRONT SIGHT & HERRETT’S STOCKS, #143XXX, MADE 1940. All of these adjustable sighted .32-20 revolvers are rare and this one is equipped with a King Pat. Marked front sight that has a tilted mirror in the flat portion of the ramp behind the rear-tilting sight blade that was meant to reflect light on the sight (!) which I assume worked. The rear sight is the typical S&W pre-war target sight with white outline blade. The target walnut stocks are “Herrett’s” etc. marked on the inside and are beautifully checkered on the sides and wrapping around the front strap. Serrated back strap and trigger, tight action and fine case color on the hammer and trigger sides. The only blue wear is on the bottom of the trigger guard bow/frame and some muzzle wear along with general light edge wear etc. This revolver was obviously used but well cared for. Exceptionally smooth action and great pre-war hand tuned trigger. Minty bright bore and excellent sharply checkered grips. Matching numbers. A S&W historical letter might prove interesting on this one as it may have been special ordered with the King mirror front sight or at least shipped to King.
