Description:
Serial #434882, .38 Special, 6" barrel with a very good bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves.
This is a handsome revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor, with the metal retaining 80-85% of the original blue finish, with fading along the sides of the barrel, silvering along the high edges, as well as visible forging lines on the sideplate, and a bright turn-ring on the cylinder.
The hammer and trigger retain about 50-60% of the original color case-hardening, with freckled gray on the balance.
The diamond-center grips are correct, but numbered to a different gun, and are in very good condition with some flattening of the points, as well as minor handling marks, scratches, and some impact blemishes at the butt.
This is a very nice example of a pre-war .38 M&P, and would make a good representative example for a collection.
