S&W 651 22 Mag with extra factory 22 lr cylinder
Description:
Smith & Wesson model 651 (no dash), “J” frame, stainless steel revolver, 4” barrel, chambered in .22 MRF., with an extra factory fitted, original .22 lr. cylinder! It has a square butt, smooth combat hammer and red insert front sight with adjustable rear sight.
This is a rare special order 651 to have both cylinders. The 651 is known to have been advertised as the Magnum (exclusively) version of the model 63, but some early versions of the 651 were available with an extra LR cylinder, and this is one of them! The original box even has a second line of description on the end label.
The only thing lacking in this rare, special ordered version of the 651 is condition (it’s not NIB!). This little “J” frame has been fired and carried. There is some light, but noticeable muzzle “polishing” from a holster and drag marks on the breech from opening and closing the cylinder(s). Still, it is 97% cosmetically and perfect mechanically.
