Smith & Wesson Schofield revolver.
Description: Smith & Wesson 2nd standard model. Manufactured in 1876. Original nickel finish. It still has the inspectors cartouche clear and visible on the grips. The bore has some light pitting, however the rifling is sharp the intire length of the barrel. Chambers are in good shape. The percentage of Schofields shipped to the US military compared to the Colt single action army, is very small. Over 30 thousand Colts were shipped to the US goverment while around 5 thousand Smith & Wesson Schofields were shipped. This revolver was manufactured in 1876 making this a "Custer" era cavalry revolver. A really cool piece of history. SOLD |
