Fine & Interesting Pocket Gun with Very Long Barrel

Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson .32 S&W Safety Hammerless Revolver, made circa 1907 in Springfield, Massachusetts. These were also known as the “New Departure” or the “Lemon Squeezer”, the latter due to the safety bar in the backstrap. This little revolver holds 5 shots of .32 S&W. It was designed to meet the defensive needs of citizens and law enforcement in the late 19th Century. This is a top break design with an automatic ejector, hammerless design and grip safety. This one features a very long barrel for its size that interestingly negate the other features that make this revolver such a good pocket gun. The 6 inch barrel makes this a scarcer variant.

The overall condition is fine. The original nickel finish is 90%. The original blue finish on the barrel latch and trigger guard is about 70%. Case colors are faint but visible on the trigger. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are fine. The bore is in very good condition with sharp rifling. The action is functional, however, the trigger return spring is weak, necessitating manual trigger reset. The firing pin’s tip is also broken. Nevertheless, this is a fine Smith & Wesson that would be worth the small repairs.
