NUMBER 001 of 100 NEW OLD STOCK IN CASE
Description: For sale today we are offering up an absolutely outstanding example of a new old stock S&W Model 29-6 Pre-Lock revolver. This is a gold inlaid and engraved 44 Magnum with a 6” barrel and full target features. There is quite an interesting story behind these guns. This gun is number 001 of 100 as shown, but 100 were not actually made! Lew Horton contracted 100 of these gold inlaid and engraved model 29’s to be made. After 40 were produced, something happened with the wood grip supplier and Lew Horton was not able to make anymore with wood grips. The next 40 guns came with finger groove rubber grips. They sold so poorly that the last 20 guns were never made. So this gun is the first one produced number 001 of actually 80. Very interesting history behind these particular 29’s. The gun is in new old stock and unfired condition and includes the presentation case shown.
