The Smith & Wesson .38 Hammerless 4th model Top Break Revolver was a popular firearm manufactured by the Smith & Wesson company from 1898 to 1907. The serial number 150021 indicates that this particular revolver was made during this time period. It is chambered in .38 caliber and has a 5-shot cylinder.
Condition: 3 ¼” round ribbed barrel with a near excellent bore. Still showing very strong rifling. The blued finish on the metal surfaces of the gun remains intact with about 75% of the original blue still present. The finish loss is mainly on the receiver and side plate which is toning to a brown patina in spots. Trigger still retains a strong case hardened color.
The original checkered hard rubber grips on this revolver are in excellent condition with just some minor handling marks. All appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun, and it functions mechanically with excellent timing and lock-up. Auto ejecting functions with a strong spring. The barrel-to-frame fit remains tight, indicating that the gun has been well-cared for over the years.
