S&W .22/.32 Heavy Target Model Revolver With Holster Bobbed hammer
Description:
Serial #472023, .22 LR, 6" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some freckling towards the breech. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor, with the metal retaining 90-92% of the original blue finish that has some silvering at the muzzle, along the high and projecting edges, and spots of mild surface oxidation on the frame. The cylinder has a light turn-ring, while the hammer has been bobbed at some point and the trigger and hammer both retain about 50-60% of the original color case-hardening, with gray fading on the balance. The original adjustable target rear sight is still in place, and a non-original high front sight blade has been fitted. The checkered, target grips are faintly pencil-numbered on the interior, but the numbers are no longer legible. Additionally, the interior has a hand-carved date: "AUG / XVI / XXXII"; while the exterior of the panels are in fine shape with light finish loss, and some flattening of the points on either side. The lock-up is still tight, and the action is fully functional. The revolver is housed in a period, tooled-leather holster with snap-fastened retention strap. The leather is in good-very good shape, with flaking along the edges and crazing along the flex points, but the holster is nevertheless still fully serviceable. This is an about fine example of a "Bekeart" type S&W, and would make a great addition to a collection. FFL or C&R
