S&W .38 Perfected Model Revolver SN 3901
Description:
Serial #3901, .38 S&W, 4" barrel with a good bore that has spots of freckling and some light pitting along its length. This is a good looking revolver that retains about 70-75% original nickel with even, plum-brown freckling throughout. Matching numbers are present on the frame, barrel, latch, cylinder, and extractor, however the metal has been buffed on the butt to a dull pewter gray patina. The hammer and trigger still retain visible color case-hardening with scattered light freckling on some areas, and there are patches of plum-brown patina on the frontstrap. The grips are original, and numbered to the gun with light-moderate wear throughout and flattening of the points. The mechanics, timing, and lock-up are all excellent and the barrel to frame fit remains firm. These are fairly uncommon revolvers and this is a nice example that rates good-near very good condition overall. FFL or C&R
