Description:
Smith & Wesson Model 627-4 Performance Center revolver, chambered in .38 Super Auto, serial number SUP0585. Introduced at the 2002 SHOT SHOW. A limited run from Bangers Distributors. This N-frame, double-action Performance Center revolver has a 5.5" barrel with muzzle brake bringing total length to 5 7/8". Pinned patridge front sight and fully adjustable target-type rear sight. Configured as an 8-shot revolver intended for competition-oriented use with moon clips. Features include a satin stainless steel frame and barrel with a contrasting matte black, unfluted cylinder, a smooth faced trigger with stop, and a smooth wooden competition-style grip with screw-fixation at butt. The full underlug barrel is marked “38 SUPER” on the left side and “PERFORMANCE CENTER” on the right. The yoke cut is factory-marked “627-4” with the serial number “SUP0585.” The left side of the frame is marked with the circular Smith & Wesson Performance Center logo; the right side of the frame marked with the standard S&W address “MADE IN U.S.A. / MARCAS REGISTRADAS / SMITH & WESSON / SPRINGFIELD, MASS.” A limited production revolver in an uncommon chambering and competition-focused configuration - a wonderful example for Performance Center and Model 627 collectors!
