S&W M&P Airweight Revolver 38 Special Pre-Model 12
Description:
Serial #C435907, .38 Special, 2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very late late production revolver, made ca. 1955/1956, produced after the elimination of the upper sideplate screw, but prior to the reintroduction as the Model 12 in 1957. The revolver retains 97-98% of the original blue finish on the steel barrel and cylinder, with some minor silvering at the muzzle and cylinder flutes. The alloy frame has most of the original black anodized finish remaining with some fading to bright underlying metal along the edges of the topstrap, as well as a small triangular spot on the left side of the topstrap where it looks like the metal was intentionally ground down a bit. The hammer and trigger retain most of their original color case-hardening; and the matching numbered walnut grips are in fine shape with only very mild handling marks and some light flattening of the points. This is a very nice Pre-Model 12 revolver and rates fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
