Classic Smith & Wesson Regulation Police .32 Long revolver with desirable 5-screw frame configuration, mirror bore, and excellent original finish, circa 1917.
Description:
Standard configuration 5-Screw Smith & Wesson Regulation Police revolver, cal. .32 long, with blade front sight and grooved rear sight. Top of barrel with the usual two line S&W address/patent dates, whose patent date is repeated on the butt. Left side of barrel marked "SMITH & WESSON". Right side of barrel marked "32 LONG CTG". Left side of frame with the S&W logo. Right side of frame is marked “MADE IN USA”. SN on frontstrap, under barrel, and on rear of cylinder. Frame and crane with matching assembly number “21031”. Color case hardened hammer and trigger. Fitted with walnut checkered grips having diamonds around the screw whose serial number is penciled on inside of right panel.
Condition:
Near EXC original finish, with slight muzzle wear, sharp edge wear, and a thin cylinder ring as one would expect from a lightly carried and used service pistol. Comparable condition case hardening on small parts. Crisp grips, slightly oil darkened, a small blunted area along the rear edge of the left panel as imaged. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. An excellent, no excuse example of a S&W Regulation Police Revolver with 5 screw frame made circa 1917.
