With Handsome Nickel & Blue Finish Circa 1910

Here we present a Smith & Wesson .32 S&W Safety Hammerless Revolver, made circa 1910 in Springfield, Massachusetts. These were also known as the “New Departure” or the “Lemon Squeezer”, the latter due to the safety bar in the backstrap. This little revolver holds 5 shots of .32 S&W. It was designed to meet the defensive needs of citizens and law enforcement in the late 19th Century. This is a top break design with an automatic ejector, hammerless design and grip safety. These features made it great for pocket carry and they were very popular during the Roaring Twenties!

The left side of the barrel is marked “.32 S&W CTG.”. The top of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A.”.

The overall condition is very fine. The original nickel finish is 95% complete. The original blue on the trigger guard and barrel latch are nearly complete. The case colors on the trigger are still visible. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The trademarked grips are in great shape, with only a small crack on the bottom left grip. The bore is in very good shape with strong rifling. The action on this revolver is excellent.
