Smith & Wesson Model 25-5, .45 Long Colt
Description: Smith & Wesson Model 25-5, .45 Long Colt, double-action revolver, with a 4-inch barrel, original target grips, target hammer, target trigger, open adjustable rear sight, and a bright blue finish. The revolver has a three-screw configuration, with one screw (#3) under the stock. Based on its serial number, the year of manufacture is between 1970 and 1972. There is no box or other accessories with this revolver. The overall condition of this gun is 98+ percent. Other than the normal cylinder-lock scar, there is one issue with metal finish - on the right side of the frame, just in front of the cylinder, is what I think is a manufacture flaw. It is smooth to the touch and is hardly noticeable, except in the right light and at the right angle (see photo with yellow annotation). There are two issues with stock. 1) On the left-side stock, right below the grip screw, there is a 3/4 by 1/8-inch area were the top coat is rub down to, but not into, the wood (see photos with yellow arrow). 2) On the bottom of the right-side stock, there is a thin 3/4-inch scratch (see photo). Aside from these two issues the rest of the stock is perfect, with no other blemishes, mars, stains, etc. The checkering is deep and crisp, with no sign of wear. Though I cannot guarantee this, the gun looks as though it has never been fired since its original purchase. The cylinder lock ring is very light and the front of the cylinder shows no carbon stain, which is almost impossible to entirely remove once a revolver has been fired. See the photos of the cylinder ring and the front of the cylinder. There are no other blemishes, mars, stains, etc. anywhere else the gun. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, there are no box, accessories, or owner’s manual. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Please excuse the oil smears in the photos. Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better. The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($25) and insurance, if desired. I will accept a personal check which I will hold until it clears. I will also accept a USPS money order which I do not have to hold, as it clears immediately.
