Smith & Wesson Model 40 .38 Special revolver, dated to 1971-74. This revolver features the iconic J-Frame design, with a shrouded internal hammer made for double-action only, and a very unique frame safety mechanism, commonly refered to as a "Lemon-squeezer". The pistol will not operate unless the grip safety is depressed, which turns out to be very natural due to the pressure required to pull the trigger. The pistol is in great working order with a full functional mechanism, solid timing and lockup, and nice bore/chamber surfaces. Some areas of minor finish wear and speckling is present, as shown in the photos. Please refer to the photos prior to purchase. A great collectible and even a carry gun! No sale in MA.
