The S&W Model No. 1 Second Issue Tip-Up revolvers were made from 1860 to 1868, with approximately 114,900 manufactured. The 7-shot revolvers were fitted with a 3 3/16 inch octagon barrel, spur trigger, silver plated brass flat sided frame with irregular-shaped sideplate, blue finished barrel & cylinder, square butt Rosewood grips, and chambered in .22 Rim Fire. This No. 1 is as described and is in fine condition. The frame retains 85% of its original silver-plate. The barrel retains 80% of its blue finish and the cylinder retains 20% of its blue, the rest turning a grey patina. The Rosewood grips fit well and retain 85% of their original finish. The serial number 87516 is stamped on the inside of one of the grip panels and the butt is stamped 8751, the last number missing due to damage from handling. The bore is shootable, with visible rifling, but is rough. PRICE: $1,050 We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.
