Smith & Wesson U.S. Army 45 Model - Commercial as new in box

Description:
Smith & Wesson U.S. Army .45 Model Commercial.  Probably ordered in the late 1920’s this beautiful 1917 has been in the same family since new!  The grandfather who had carried a 1917 in the service ordered the commercial model with the optional sling swivel and kept it in unfired condition until he gave it to his grandson in the early 1970’s.  The grandson put in on a shelf in his closet until I acquired it!

This S&W speaks for itself and if it was not for some “box” wear and a few cylinder turns over the years this Army model would be 100% NIB.  The way it is with some very light surface rusting on the backstrap and a few finish marks on the revolver I grade it at 98%+.

This is one of the best examples around and available of a 90 something year old S&W 1917 U.S. Army 45 Model Commercial!
