This is a VERY RARE Smith and Wesson model 45 Military and Police chambered in 22 Long Rifle. This revolver was designated as a training gun for the U.S. Postal Service, Coast Guard, and police departments. The pinned barrel is 4 inches long with an excellent bore. It is a square butt, K frame revolver. It was made in 1960 based on the 3rd Edition Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson. It has a six shot fluted cylinder with a checkered cylinder release, serrated trigger, and checkered hammer. The timing and lock up are perfect based on visual inspection. The blue finish is in great shape! It has a case color hammer and trigger. It has a serrated ramp front sight and fixed square-notch rear sight. It has 2-piece brown diamond checkered walnut grips with S&W emblems. The grips have MATCHING NUMBERS “429793" and are in great condition. This revolver qualifies as a Curio and Relic and can ship where legally allowed. This revolver would make a great addition to any firearms collection.
