VERY NICE Antique SMITH & WESSON 3rd Model .38 S&W Top Break DA Revolver
Smith & Wesson’s Double Action Concealed Carry
Description: VERY NICE Antique SMITH & WESSON 3rd Model .38 S&W Top Break DA Revolver Smith & Wesson’s Double Action Concealed Carry Here we present an antique 3rd Model Smith & Wesson .38 S&W Double Action Revolver, made circa 1890 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Smith & Wesson Third Models were produced from 1884 to 1895 with a total production of 203,700 revolvers. In the Third Model .38, the location of the latch notch of the rear sear was changed to give a lighter trigger pull when the weapon was used single action. Although this required a corresponding change of the full-cock notch on the hammer, the two models (2nd and 3rd) are hard to identify except by reference to the serial numbers. Third Model serial numbers begin with 119,001 and run to 322,700. Here is a great example of a revolver that would have been carried in the years prior to the turn of the century. And, with gangsters and career criminals running rampant, this example would have been the “pocket advantage” a person needed. The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish. Excellent action. The bore is in good shape and has maintained a light shimmer with a frosted appearance. Sharp markings. Both grips are in fine shape. Numbers match. Here is a great example of a revolver that would have been carried in the years prior to the turn of the century! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3-1/4 inches. Caliber: .38 S&W Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1350 #230802 SOLD Antique: Yes |
