VERY RARE SMITH & WESSON .38-40 WINCHESTER Double Action Revolver 1 of only 276 Manufactured!
Description: VERY RARE SMITH & WESSON .38-40 WINCHESTER Double Action Revolver 1 of only 276 Manufactured! Here we present a very rare Smith & Wesson Double Action First Model Revolver made circa the 1880s in Springfield, Massachusetts. The vast majority (approximately 37,974) of these were chambered for .44 S&W Russian, however, some .44-40 WCF (Winchester Center Fire) was an extremely popular cartridge and so about 15,340 were made for that cartridge. A mere 276 of this model were made in .38-40 WCF by Smith & Wesson. This is a substantial, full-sized double action/single action revolver that exudes the quality that S&W have been known for. It has a top-break design that kicks out the empty brass automatically and makes loading a bit less tedious than its Colt counterparts. These would have been a very desirable alternative. The overall condition is excellent. This revolver was returned to the factory in the 1950s for refinishing and retains nearly perfect nickel finish with blued accents. The action is excellent with a smooth and hearty double action trigger pull and nice single action pull. The bore is in good shape with nice rifling. The grips remain fine and have minimal handling marks. This is a magnificent Smith & Wesson in superior condition, chambered for a super rare cartridge, with a 3-digit serial number. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 6-1/2 inches. Caliber: .38-40 WCF Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $5675 #200884 SOLD Antique: Yes |
