Antique CIVIL WAR Starr Arms Co. CAVALRY Saddle Ring PERCUSSION Carbine Breech Loading UNION Carbine
Description: Antique CIVIL WAR Starr Arms Co. CAVALRY Saddle Ring PERCUSSION Carbine Breech Loading UNION Carbine Here we present an antique Starr Arms Co. Saddle Ring Percussion Carbine, made circa 1863 in Yonkers, New York. This carbine borrows elements from its contemporaries, and 20,601 were ordered by the Union during the American Civil War. The style and function certainly reflect the more popular Sharps rifle and carbine. These carbines were known to have been issued, especially in the Western Theater, to the following units: 1st Arkansas, 5th Kansas, 11th Missouri, and 24th New York. “HGS” is read on the left barrel and “LAB” on the top of the buttstock near the butt plate, for Ordnance Inspector Lt. Commander Lester A. Beardslee. There are two “STB” cartouches on the left stock as seen in the photos, which stands for Samuel T. Bugbee. The overall condition is very good. Nice original blue finish with still visible case colors on the receiver. The action is strong. The bore bright with nice rifling. A small chip is missing on the toe of the buttstock. This is an example of a Civil War era Starr rifle that has seen a conflict or two! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 21 inches in length. Caliber: .54 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2395 #20579 SOLD Antique: Yes |
