Description:
Serial #9766, .44 Caliber, 6" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This is a good looking revolver that has matching numbers on the frame and barrel assembly, while the cylinder is numbered to a different gun ("17420"). The metal has an overall plum-brown patina throughout, with silvering along the high and exposed edges, as well as a few small spots of pitting at the front face of the cylinder. Faint traces of the original blue finish are present on some of the protected areas. The tip of the hammer spur has broken off. The original walnut grip is in very good shape, with minor handling marks scattered about the old, flaked added varnish. Visible US inspector cartouches are present on either side of the butt. The action works as it should with the switch on the trigger traveling freely. This is a nice Civil War Starr DA revolver overall. Antique;
